Jira
Cardscape runs inside Jira Cloud as an app. It shows up in two places: a project page and an issue panel — so you can open your canvases both from a project and from an individual issue.
Where Cardscape appears
The Jira app adds two surfaces:
- Project page — the full boards/canvases app for a project. This is where you open and manage the project's canvases.
- Issue panel — a Cardscape panel on an individual issue, for canvases about that one issue.
Both open the same Cardscape experience; they differ only in scope.
How Jira maps onto Cardscape
Cardscape uses the same building blocks across every tracker it connects to. Here's how Jira lines up:

When you place a Jira issue as a card, its details come along in a familiar shape:
- Issue statuses become the card's lists.
- Subtasks become checklist items.
- The assignee shows up as a member.

Canvases and their scopes
Because Jira maps onto the same building blocks, canvases use the same three scopes as everywhere else in Cardscape — the Jira names just slot in:

Each project gets a default canvas the first time you open the project page, and you can add more. As with Trello, the scope organizes a canvas — it doesn't gate access. Who can open a canvas is decided by your Jira site membership (below), not by which project or issue it's filed under. For the full, provider-neutral model see Canvas scopes.
How access works
Your access in Cardscape follows your Jira site membership — you can reach the sites and projects you already have in Jira. If you're a project administrator, you're treated as a workspace admin in Cardscape.
Limitation: creating cards
On Jira, creating new cards from a canvas isn't supported — you can place, view, and work with existing issues, but new issues are created in Jira itself. (Creating cards directly from a canvas is available on Trello.)
