Chatting with the agent
Cardscape has a built-in AI agent you can chat with to work on your canvas. It lives in the canvas sidebar under the sparkles tab. Each chat is private and belongs to just you — there's one private chat per person per canvas.
The agent tab only appears when your workspace has AI configured. If you don't see it, an admin needs to set up a provider first — see Agent settings, models & limits.
Opening the panel
Open the sidebar on your canvas and select the sparkles tab. The panel shows a chat selector at the top, the transcript in the middle, and a composer at the bottom.
Managing chats
Use the chat selector to switch between chats, start a new chat, or delete one you no longer need. Every private chat is yours alone.
You can also create a shared Team chat — see Team chats.
Sending a message
Type your request in the composer and press Enter to send. While the agent is working, the composer shows a Stop button — press it to abort the current run.
What a reply looks like
An assistant reply is built up as the agent works, in the order things happened:
- A collapsible thinking section shows the agent's reasoning. It streams live and stays open while the run is in progress.
- One chip per tool the agent used — a compact record of each action it took on your canvas.
- The agent's written answer in plain text.
As the agent draws, the canvas itself updates live in front of you through the normal collaboration channel — you'll see elements, cards, and edits appear as they happen, just as if a teammate were drawing.
