# CardScape

> CardScape is a collaborative infinite canvas for a team's work — a full
> whiteboard and diagramming toolkit, live cards, connected Markdown/MDX
> documents, comment threads, and a built-in AI agent. It works on its own with
> native accounts and workspaces, and connects two-way to Trello, Jira, and
> GitHub when you want. It is not another whiteboard; it is a whiteboard
> connected to your actual work.

## What it does

- Live cards on an infinite canvas: use native CardScape cards, or connect
  Trello (and Jira) to drag real cards from a built-in picker — they land as
  live embeds with labels, members, due dates, checklist progress, and covers,
  not screenshots or copies. For a connected tracker the link is two-way:
  editing a card on the canvas (rename, description, checklist, comments) writes
  back, and you can create new cards straight from the canvas.
- Whiteboard & diagrams: shapes, connectors, arrows, freehand, sticky notes,
  images, frames, reusable libraries, and true real-time multiplayer. Used for
  flowcharts, process maps, UML, software architecture, BPMN, swimlanes, ER and
  data models, mind maps, org charts, roadmaps, dependency maps, customer
  journeys, sprint plans, retrospectives, and project timelines.
- Documents: attach Markdown/MDX documents to any element, with callouts,
  columns, badges, stats, checklists, and live Trello-card references; build a
  reusable MDX component library; optional two-way GitHub repository sync.
- Comments: pin comment threads anywhere on the canvas or discuss a document
  inline; resolve when done.
- AI: a built-in canvas agent that draws and edits the canvas in real time —
  create plans, generate diagrams, turn cards into roadmaps, tidy the layout.
  CardScape also exposes an MCP server, so you can connect Claude and other
  MCP-compatible AI clients with a personal access token.
- Security: run standalone with native workspaces, link invites, and admin
  roles; or connect Trello/Jira and access follows their existing permission
  model — members see only what they're already authorized to, and edits are
  made as the member's own tracker identity.
